PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber cable in which an optical fiber tape unit accommodated in a sheath of an optical fiber cable can be easily taken out from the inside of the sheath. SOLUTION: The optical fiber cable has an approximately rectangular section in which one or more optical fiber tape units are accommodated in the sheath. Notches are formed at three or more portions on either side of the long side surface of the sheath. The notches are formed at (1) one or more portions at the positions where the optical fiber tape unit exists on a line parallel to the short side surface from the center of the notch in the section of the optical fiber cable, and (2) one or more portions at the positions at both the sides of the notches at the positions of (1) and at the position where the optical fiber unit does not exist on a line parallel to the short side surface from the center of the notch, in the section of the optical fiber cable.
