PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic development processor capable of speedy switching from a standby mode to a development mode without giving stress to a user. SOLUTION: At time T1 when a print mode wherein processing liquid is held at an optimum liquid temperature of 38°C is switched to an energy-saving mode, a control section calculates and determines an energy-saving liquid temperature of 33°C based upon outside a fresh air temperature of 20°C that an outside air temperature detecting sensor detects. The energy-saving liquid temperature is calculated by subtracting a liquid temperature by which the temperature is raised from the detected outside air temperature within a mode switching permissible time from the optimum liquid temperature. The liquid temperature of the processing liquid is lowered down to the determined energy-saving liquid temperature. At time T2 when an indication to cancel the energy-saving mode is input, an electric heater and a circulation pump are driven to raise the liquid temperature from an energy-saving liquid temperature of 31°C to the optimum liquid temperature of 38°C.
