PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stable aqueous preparation containing zinc 6,8-dimercaptooctanoate or N-(6,8-dimercaptooctanoyl)amino acid zinc complex, and its physiologically acceptable salt in effective concentrations. SOLUTION: This aqueous preparation comprises zinc 6,8-dimercaptooctanoate or N-(6,8-dimercaptooctanoyl)amino acid zinc complex, and its physiologically acceptable salt and a water-soluble polyvinyl compound. A method for solubilizing and stabilizing zinc 6,8-dimercaptooctanoate or N-(6,8-dimercaptooctanoyl)amino acid zinc complex, and its physiologically acceptable salt in the aqueous preparation is characterized by compounding the zinc 6,8-dimercaptooctanoate or N-(6,8-dimercaptooctanoyl)amino acid zinc complex, and its physiologically acceptable salt with a water-soluble polyvinyl compound.
