PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pasty skin detergent of a fatty acid-based soap well soluble in water, having foamability and excellent in storage stability. SOLUTION: The pasty skin detergent comprises (a) 25-50 mass% higher fatty acid soap (such as potassium laurate soap, potassium myristate soap and potassium stearate soap), (b) 0.5-10 mass% lower alcohol (such as ethyl alcohol) and (c) water, and, if required, (d) a polyhydric alcohol.
