PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device capable of detecting stepping force, in even a stopped state, regarding an electric assisted bicycle. SOLUTION: Difference signals between the input and output of a flexible joint are detected by two position detecting parts installed by being shifted by almost 90°in an electric angle to each of the input side and the output side. A larger absolute value of the detected values at each detecting point is detected as the stepping force. The difference signals by the two sets are based on signals in which magnetic flux of magnets provided between the input and output of the flexible joint is detected by position detecting parts arranged at two portions oppositely with respect to each of the magnets.
