PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a clamp mechanism of a cutting insert, stably fixable, by allowing a pressing object surface of the cutting insert to sufficiently abut on a pressing surface of an insert installing seat with a simple structure. SOLUTION: This clamp mechanism of the cutting insert clamps the cutting insert by sandwiching the cutting insert. A pair of collar parts 3B and 3C are formed in a tip part of a holder 1, and a pedestal having a pedestal surface is arranged in the other collar part 3C, and a pressing part having a pressing surface oppositely extending to the pedestal surface, is arranged in one collar part 3B. A clamp screw 22 for approaching the pressing part toward the pedestal, is inserted into the pair of collar parts 3B and 3C so as to be adjacent to the side in the width direction of the pressing surface and the pedestal surface.
