PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ratchet mechanism which can prevent an engaging portion and ratchet tooth from wearing mutually, and smoothly perform posture change. SOLUTION: The mechanism comprises: a ratchet tooth J14 which is formed in a first member J1, and has a plurality of engaging recesses J14a, J14b; an engaging portion J3, which is supported to a second member J2, capable of engaging either of a plurality of the engaging recesses J14a, J14b when the second member J2 is located to a normal posture O and a forward folding posture P; and an engaging portion supporting component J22 supported in transferability between an engagement possible position Q, which is prepared in the second member J2, capable of engaging the engaging portion J3 with the engaging recesses J14a, J14b in order and an interference avoiding position R which prevents an interference with the ratchet tooth J14. And, the engaging portion J3 is located to the engaging possible posture Q when the second member J2 is turned to the forward folding posture P from the normal posture O, and to the interference avoiding position R when the second member J2 is turned to the normal posture O from the forward folding posture P simultaneously.
