COMPOSITE ADSORBENTS, PROCESS FOR PRODUCING THE SAME, AND WATER-PURIFYING MATERIAL AND WATER PURIFIER

[PROBLEMS] To provide: a composite adsorbent which has low water permeation resistance, retains the well-balanced ability to remove free chlorine, THM, etc., and does not release fine particles of a finely particulate compound during water passing and use of which does not result in differences in performance among purifiers caused by the occurrence of classification; a composite adsorbent which has the excellent ability to adsorb heavy metals including lead due to the selection of a finely particulate compound; a composite adsorbent with which alkaline mineral water can be easily produced; a water-purifying material comprising any of these adsorbents; and a water purifier employing the water-purifying material. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] The composite adsorbents comprise an adsorbent substance (a) in at least one form selected from powdery, particulate, and fibrous forms and, adherent to the surface thereof, a plastic powder (b) and a finely particulate compound (c).
