<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of achieving stable rotary driving to the change of inertia without using an external additional component. <P>SOLUTION: A toner residual amount detection part 104 detects the residual amount of toner stored in a developing device, a weight conversion part 105 converts the residual amount of the toner detected by the toner residual amount detection part 104 into weight, and an inertia predicting part 108 predicts the inertia of a rotary rack 4 based on the weight converted by the weight conversion part 105, then a motor control value setting part 109 sets a control value for controlling a stepping motor 300 based on the inertia predicted by the inertia predicting part 108. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
