PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an access point device and a communication method capable of limiting access from radio terminals other than a prescribed radio terminal by a simple operation. SOLUTION: The access point device connected to a communication network for relaying communication between the radio terminal and the communication network comprises a communication control means; a data processing means provided with the terminal identifier of the prescribed radio terminal for performing relay processing, on the basis of the control of the communication control means; a charging contact to the radio terminal; and a contact monitoring means for monitoring whether or not the radio terminal is connected to the charging contact. The communication control means instructs access limitation to the data processing means when the radio terminal is connected to the charging contact, and the data processing means which receives the access limitation instruction relays only the communication of the prescribed radio terminal.
