PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a solid electrolytic capacitor whose man-hours and leakage currents are made smaller than those of a conventional solid electrolytic capacitor. SOLUTION: A capacitor element configured by winding an anode foil and a cathode foil whose surface is formed with an anode oxide film through a separator is immersed in formation solution constituted of aqueous solution containing phosphoric acid or ammonium phosphate of 0.01 to 15.0 wt% or adipic acid, or ammonium adipate of 0.01 to 20.0 wt% at liquid temperatures 50 to 80°C in 2 to 10 minutes, and currents are applied to carry out element formation.
