PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smoothen operation in transition from an engine start period to normal operation in an internal combustion engine having an injector for cylinder injection and an injector for intake passage injection. SOLUTION: In the engine 10 having a plurality of cylinders 112#1 to 112#4, in engine starting and in idling operation, only one predetermined injector of the injector 110 for cylinder injection and the injector 120 for intake passage injection is used in each cylinder to inject fuel. When there is concern that air may accumulate in a fuel supply system to the injectors, in first transition to the normal operation period wherein fuel is injected from both the injectors 110, 120, the other injectors are prohibited for a predetermined period in some cylinders and fuel is injected only by the one injectors similarly to the engine start time and the idling operation time.
