PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for controlling divided gates in a sintering machine where the control of divided gates is performed without using the temperature as such of a sintering raw material in a sintering pallet, unevenness in firing in the width direction of the sintering pallet is reduced, and the yield of sintered ore can be improved, and to provide a method for producing sintered ore. SOLUTION: By the method for controlling divided gates in a sintering machine, the sintering machine where a sintering raw material layer obtained by feeding a sintering raw material onto a sintering pallet so as to be packed has divided gates of controlling the feed of the sintering raw material to the direction of the sintering pallet, measures the temperature of exhaust gas at a plurality of parts in the width direction of the sintering pallet in the plurality of parts to the direction of the machine length direction as the progressing direction of the sintering pallet, obtains the curve equation of the exhaust gas temperature to the machine length direction in each pallet width direction form the measured temperature, obtains the maximum point position of the temperature in the machine length direction at which the exhaust gas temperature obtained from the temperature curve equation reaches the maximum, and controls the divided gates in such a manner that the maximum point positions of the temperature in the machine length direction are made the same set position in all the width direction positions.
