<p>A pneumatic tire, comprising a carcass layer (4) formed by covering, with a rubber, a plurality of cords folded so as to be wrapped around a ring-like bead core (2). A wire chafer (7) formed by covering a plurality of cords with a rubber is installed on the outer side of the carcass layer (4). The outer end part (7a) of the wire chafer (7) in the tire lateral direction extends from the folded end part (4a) of the carcass layer (4) to the tire radial outer side. A distance between the cords of the carcass layer (4) at the folded portion (4b) and the cords of the wire chafer (7) adjacent to the cords is formed wider toward the tire radial outer side. The inner end part (7b) of the wire chafer (7) in the tire lateral direction is positioned on the tire radial outer side of the intersection (11) of a perpendicular (10) drawn from the radius of curvature (O) of a flange (9) to the inner part (4c) of the carcass layer (4) in the tire lateral direction with the inner part (4c) of the carcass layer in the tire lateral direction.</p> |
