<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink excellent in jetting properties and in image position accuracy, an ink set, a recording method, an ink tank and a recording apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The ink comprises at least a coloring material, an ionic liquid and an organic solvent. The ink is particularly suitably employed for an inkjet method. The ink set comprises at least the ink or at least the ink and a processing solution comprising at least a flocculant.
