PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new thermostable or thermoactive DNA polymerase, a DNA encoding the DNA polymerase, a recombinant vector containing the DNA and a transformant containing the recombinant vector.

SOLUTION: The thermostable or thermoactive DNA polymerase as a new thermostable or thermoactive DNA polymerase comprises (a) an amino acid sequence described in the sequence number 2 or (b) an amino acid sequence described in the sequence number 2 in which one or a plurality of amino acids are deleted, substituted or added in an amino acid sequence part composed of 1-573 amino acids and/or an amino acid sequence part composed of 792-837 amino acids.
