PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically distribute an access load even when the number of client PC using a storage centric network fluctuates. SOLUTION: A storage controller for controlling the writing/reading of data for a disk drive where one or more logical units are set is provided with a plurality of ports connected through a network to a client computer and a plurality of microprocessors for controlling the input/output of data by the ports. One of the plurality of microprocessors is configured as a representative microprocessor, and the representative microprocessor receives an access request from the client computer to the logical unit, and assigns the requested access to one of the plurality of microprocessors by referring to the connecting status of each microprocessor.
