PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotation detecting apparatus capable of outputting a large detection signal with a small power consumption. SOLUTION: This rotation detecting apparatus comprises a magnetic sensor array having a number of sensor elements 5a and a magnetism generation means which faces the magnetic sensor array, rotates and has anisotropy in the circumference direction around the rotation center. As a circuit 11 for read-out, a circuit is provided for choosing and driving a number of sensor element 5a constituting the magnetic sensor array one by one, and extracting signal components from the flowing current for conversion into voltage and reading.
