PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To start recording from a scene preceding to a desired scene. SOLUTION: Video and audio signals of a television broadcast received by a receiver (not illustrated), for example, are supplied to an input terminal 1. The video and audio signals supplied to the input terminal 1 are supplied to a recording means 4 via a distributor 2 and a changeover switch 3. Further, a reproducing signal from the recording means 4 is extracted in an output terminal 5. At the same time, video and audio signals are supplied to a storage means 6 by the distributor 2 at all the time. The video and audio signals stored in the storage means 6 are then supplied to the recording means 4 via the changeover switch 3. Moreover, operations of the changeover switch 3 and the recording means 4 are controlled by a microcomputer 100 for control, for example.
