PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To arbitrarily customize and provide the original sound of a ringback tone during a ringback tone period. SOLUTION: When a call is originated from a portable telephone terminal 2 (step S401), in an exchange system 4, the telephone number of a caller and the telephone number of a callee are confirmed (step S501). Then, a user information DB 46 is referred to and the user authentication of the caller is performed (step S502). When user registration is recognized (step S503), an RBTID is judged from the telephone number of the caller, content data for the RBTID are read from a sound source DB (step S504), and the ringback tone is generated on the basis of the read content data.
