PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve development efficiency deterioration problems such as unclear outline generation and inaccurate color reproduction due to omission of high-pass constituents in image processing by conventional imaging systems that generate the Y signal via a conversion formula based on the RGB bayer data. SOLUTION: This imaging system calculates a brightness signal and a color difference signal for each local area in an m×n (m and n are integers greater than or equal to 2) picture area for an image signal obtained by a color solid-state sensing device via a RGB primary color or CrYrYbCb complementary color filter, performs a predetermined operation for each calculated signal, reversely converts the brightness and color difference signals after the predetermined operation into the image signal of a local area or a partial area of the local area, employs a three charged coupled devices system and performs color conversion for one charged coupled device system image signal subject to reverse conversion and then records it on a recording medium.
