PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a broadcast receiver for mobiles capable of alleviating useless consumption of a battery when it is not viewed at a reserved start time, and to provide a display control method. SOLUTION: The broadcast receiver comprises a receiving portion 101 for receiving a program broadcast in digital broadcasting, an input portion 106 as a setting means for establishing a viewing reservation including a viewing start time, and a control unit 113 for issuing a notification indicative of confirmation on whether an established program is viewed or not based on the viewing start time established by a reservation means, and stopping receive processing of the receiving portion 101 based on the reserved setting if there is no confirmation response for the notification.
