PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance a compression ratio, to shorten a combustion propagation distance, and to improve (work load/required fuel amount) efficiency in order to improve engine performance. SOLUTION: In the gasoline engine, a number of ignition plugs is increased by additionally mounting the ignition plug on respective intake and exhaust valves, the distance to which flame after ignition is burned and propagated is divided, and the propagation distance is reduced. In the diesel engine, a fuel injection nozzle is additionally mounted on the respective intake and exhaust valves, and complete combustion is achieved. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
