PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary compressor capable of switching between a multi-stage compression operation in which a plurality of compression mechanism parts are communicated in series, and a one-stage compression operation in which the operation is performed by not operating at least one of the compression mechanism parts and operating the remainder of the compression mechanism parts, and a refrigerating cycle device capable of improving refrigerating efficiency and reliability. SOLUTION: The refrigerating cycle device is structured by communicating the rotary-type compressor A, a condenser B, an inflating device C, and an evaporator D via a cooling medium pipe P. The rotary compressor is equipped with a hermetic case 1, a motor part 3, the first and second compression mechanism parts 2A and 2B communicated via the motor part 3 and a rotary shaft 4, and a pressure switching mechanism K for switching between the multi-stage compression operation by communicating the first and second compression parts 2A and 2B in series, and a one-stage compression operation in which at least one of the compression mechanisms is not operated and the remaining compression mechanisms are operated.
