PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively remove secondary vibration of an engine capable of switching a plurality of operation conditions in which stroke characteristics of a piston are different. SOLUTION: A secondary balancer device 43 for the engine is provided with a first balancer shaft 44 and a second balancer shaft 45 rotating in the interlocking relationship with rotation of a crank shaft 17. Even if direction of secondary vibration generated in accordance with reciprocating movement of the piston is changed in accordance with an operation condition of the engine, a phase of the first balancer shaft 44 for a phase of the crank shaft 17 and a phase of the second balancer shaft 45 for a phase of the first balancer shaft 44 are independently changed by a first phase variable mechanism 61 provided between the first balancer shaft 44 and a gear 47 and a second phase variable mechanism 62 provided between the second balancer shaft 45 and a gear 49 to bring direction of vibration applying force generated by the secondary balancer device 43 close to direction of secondary vibration with high precision and suppress secondary vibration of the engine further effectively.
