PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a CO<SB>2</SB>incubator capable of promptly responding to a decrease in a CO<SB>2</SB>gas concentration, when the CO<SB>2</SB>incubator is used for culturing a cell sampled from blood, a specimen, etc., by controlling a temperature/humidity/atmosphere/etc., surrounding the cell. SOLUTION: This CO<SB>2</SB>incubator comprises a chamber 15, an electromagnetic on-off valve 16 for a culture compartment, an electromagnetic on-off valve 17 for the chamber, and a CO<SB>2</SB>supply fan 18, wherein the chamber 15 is used for being temporarily filled with CO<SB>2</SB>which is supplied to a culture compartment 1, the electromagnetic on-off valve 16 is used for supplying the CO<SB>2</SB>gas to the culture compartment 1, the electromagnetic on-off valve 17 is used for supplying the CO<SB>2</SB>gas to the chamber 15, and the CO<SB>2</SB>supply fan 18 is used for supplying the CO<SB>2</SB>gas which exists in the chamber to the culture compartment 1. Further, the CO<SB>2</SB>gas is filled into the chamber 15, under normal conditions, and the CO<SB>2</SB>gas which is filled into the chamber 15 is released by operating the CO<SB>2</SB>supply fan 18, when the CO<SB>2</SB>gas concentration in the culture compartment 1 is decreased, so that the CO<SB>2</SB>incubator promptly responds to the decrease in the CO<SB>2</SB>gas concentration.
