PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rejecting method and device in which products inferior in quality, or glass bottles or cans to be subjected to sampling inspection are pushed out or branched from a carry conveyor line in the carry conveyor line of articles such as glass bottles, or cans to be continuously carried in rows by a conveyor. SOLUTION: In the rejecting method and device of the article, the rejecting device 50 of the article has a perpendicular rotary shaft in the vicinity of a side surface of the carry conveyor. A discontinuous annular rotating body composed of a plurality of pressing plates 1a-1f with the length from the rotary shaft to the full width of the conveyor as its radius is typically rotated at peripheral speed equal to carrying speed, on the upper part of the conveyor which does not interfere with the carried articles 9a-9h. When the article to be rejected is detected, the only pressing plate being in contact with the article is released from the annular rotating body, and lowered while turning at a prescribed radius. The pressing plate is brought into contact with the article at almost the same speed, and thereafter successively pushed out of the conveyor while turning. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
