PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To promote filtration and defoaming of a filtrate by forming two or more bent parts in the upper end of the filter housing. SOLUTION: A filter housing H comprises a cylindrical filter cartridge 1, a sleeve-shaped shell 2 housing the filter cartridge 1 in a standing state, a cover 5 fixed liquid-tightly at one end of the shell and/or integrated with the shell and a head 4 fixed liquid-tightly at the other end of the shell and having a liquid inlet port 4a and a liquid outlet port 4b and causes a filtrate to rise in the inside cavity of the filter cartridge 1 so as to be filtrated and defoamed. Bent parts 11a and 11b are formed respectively at a position of the cover 5 opposing the primary side of the filter cartridge 1 and at a position of the cover 5 opposing the secondary side of the filter cartridge 1. The cartridge sealing part 6 is engaged in the outer periphery of a sleeve-shaped post 10 standing at a position sufficiently separated in the vertical direction from the liquid outlet port 4b formed in the head 4, and the filter cartridge 1 is mounted on the cartridge sealing part 6 so as to be separated sufficiently from the liquid outlet port 4b.
