FIELD: transport. ^ SUBSTANCE: proposed invention relates to automotive air systems. Cartridge with air dehumidifier has base 12 with inlet 20 and outlet 18 holes and casing 14 jointed to said base 12 to confine the space containing air dehumidifier 26 and filter 38. Humid airflow 84 and that of oily mist 86 enters the cartridge via said inlet 20, passes through filter 38 to get cleared of oil drops therein, air dehumidifier 26 to get into outlet 18. In reactivating the cartridge, scavenging airflow 90 comes in through outlet 18, passes through air dehumidifier 26 to get into filter 38. The proposed cartridge incorporates a valve that allows a portion of scavenging air flow to bypass the filter. ^ EFFECT: bypassing flow portion allows entrapping fluid accumulated in sump and reducing consumption of power for air dehumidifier reactivation. ^ 29 cl, 9 dwg |
