<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ceramic heater excellent in durability. <P>SOLUTION: This ceramic heater 1 is composed by incorporating a heating element in a ceramic heater base body 11. The ceramic heater 1 includes: an external terminal 12 connected to the heating element and arranged on the outside surface of the heater base body 11; a joint layer 2 formed on the surface of the external terminal 12 and formed of Kovar; and a lead wire 3 welded to the joint layer 2. A minute space 13 formed between the joint layer 2 and the lead wire 3 around a welding part 4 between the joint layer 2 and the lead wire 3 is filled with an embedding brazing material 51.
