PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scarfing device for a steel material, which can perform scarfing always at an optimum amount even if a cross sectional size changes in the steel material. SOLUTION: A supply system 48 of scarfing oxygen is connected, through a manifold 42, with each of the four nozzles oppositely facing each face of a steel material having a square cross section. To the supply system 48 of scarfing oxygen, there are arranged an automatic control regulator 70 and a pressure sensor 66 that can adjust and detect respectively the pressure of the scarfing oxygen supplied to the manifold 42. A sequencer 68 is provided to compare the pressure detected by the pressure sensor 66 with a prescribed reference pressure to feedback-control the automatic control regulator 70 so as to remove the deviation of the pressure.
