PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pixel signal processing method capable of performing interpolation correctly even if correlation between color component values differs variously, when a pixel signal of the k-th spectral sensitivity characteristic is generated in an interpolation target pixel position where a pixel signal of the h-th spectral sensitivity characteristic exists, based on a set of pixel signals arranged on two-dimensional plane and each of which having one of a plurality of spectral sensitivity characteristics. SOLUTION: Difference in low frequency components corresponding to the degree of correlation between pixel signals of the k-th and the h-th spectral sensitivity characteristics near an interpolation target pixel is computed (8r, 8g, 8b, 24k, 24h, 26). A saturation coefficient corresponding to saturation near the interpolation target pixel is computed (9), and a non-correlation value corresponding to the degree of non-correlation between the pixel signals of the k-th and the h-th spectral sensitivity characteristic in a region near the interpolation target pixel and the saturation coefficient is computed (7r, 7g, 7b, 23k, 23h, 25, 27). The pixel signal of the k-th spectral sensitivity characteristic in the interpolation target pixel position is determined using the computed differences in low frequency components and the computed non-correlation value (12, 28, 29).
