PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal gasket for improving the function of sealing a cylinder bore while avoiding the cracking of a bead due to the repetitive vertical movement of a cylinder head during the operation of an engine. SOLUTION: The metal gasket comprises a turn-around part 11 of a first metal plate 10 provided around a cylinder bore hole, a first full bead 21 of a second metal plate 20 arranged in the turn-around part 11, and a second full bead 31 formed on a third metal plate 30 laminated on the first metal plate 20 around the first full bead 21. An annealed steel material is used for the second metal plate 30 which is formed to be thinner than the first metal plate 20, and a spring steel material is used for the third metal plate 30. Seal bearing pressure to be generated on a secondary seal part of the second full bead is smaller than seal bearing pressure to be generated on a primary seal part of the first full bead. The primary seal part has greater bearing pressure resistance, and the secondary seal part has greater follow-up property. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
