PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem wherein a flow of intake/exhaust air becomes turbulent due to a difference between operation speeds of an intake valve and exhaust valve when an arm ratio of a rocker arm in the intake valve side of an engine is different from that of a rocker arm in the exhaust valve side. SOLUTION: The arm ratios of the intake valve side rocker arm and the exhaust valve side rocker arm which are engaged with the intake valve and exhaust valve provided in a cylinder head of the engine, respectively as to be capable of driving the valve system are set to be equal to each other. In a direct injection type multi-cylinder engine in which two intake valves and two exhaust valves are inclined with respect to a center of a crankshaft, the arm ratios of the intake valve side rocker arm and the exhaust valve side rocker arm which are engaged with the two intake valves and the two exhaust valves, respectively as to be capable of driving the valve system are set to be equal to each other.
