PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel injection valve formed to satisfy large flow characteristics and atomizing penetration property at the same time. SOLUTION: The fuel injection valve is provided with a valve element 18, a valve seat member 3 having an annular conical valve seat 8 for the valve element 18, and a nozzle 10 connected to the front end of the valve seat member 3 so as to be located downstream of the valve seat 8 and having a plurality of fuel injection holes 11. Each of a tip face 16b of the valve element 18 and an inner end face 10a of the nozzle facing the tip face 16b are formed of a conical surface or a spherical surface reduced in diameter toward the front of the fuel injection valve I, and an annular step part 15 avoiding mutual contact of the valve element 18 and nozzle 10 is formed between the inner end face 10a of the nozzle 10 and the valve seat 8.
