PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a substrate for a lithographic printing plate enabling attainment of an original plate of the lithographic printing plate which is excellent in deinkability after leaving to stand and wherein fatigue fracture hardly occurs. SOLUTION: An aluminum alloy plate which contains Fe of 0.2-0.5 mass%, Si of 0.01-0.2 mass%, Cu of 0.001-0.01 mass%, Zn of more than 0.02 to 0.08 mass%, Ti of 0.002-0.04 mass% and Mg of more than 0.020 to less than 0.05 mass% and the rest of which consists of Al and inevitable impurities is subjected to a surface roughening processing including an electrochemical surface roughening processing in an acid solution.
