PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rice cooker which is highly safe even in the case that the inside of a pot is pressurized in the state that a steam communicating hole is clogged or the like. SOLUTION: By providing a recessed part 43 forming a partial level difference on the sealing part opposing part 42 of a packing base 36, a steam release part 48a is constituted. By providing the recessed part 43 on the sealing part opposing part 42, the sealing of the pot 11 and lid packing 37 at the part of the steam release part 48a becomes weak, and when the lid packing 37 is elastically deformed accompanying the rise of the internal pressure of the pot 11 during rice cooking, the degree of deformation is different from other parts only at the part of the steam release part 48a, the sealing is partially destroyed and the direction of steam leakage is regulated.
