A pipe branch of plastics material comprising a first pipe section 1 having an end 1c welded into the wall of a second pipe section 2 at 3, is provided with two reinforcing flanges or gussets, 1a and 1b lying in the plane containing both pipe axes, said flanges being integral with one of the two pipe sections and welded to the other. In the embodiment shown, the flanges or gussets are formed on the first pipe section during moulding of the latter and are welded to the second pipe section at 3a, 3b. Two additional integral flanges may be provided on the first pipe section, preferably such that the four flanges are mutually at right angles.</p> |
