PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a functional film for attaching to a flat display, which has good attaching workability, can be positioned at an attaching position in good accuracy, and can prevent the intrusion of air, and to provide a method for attaching the film. SOLUTION: This functional film 10 for attaching to the flat display, which is attached to the attaching surface of the flat display as an adherend to develop functions such as a light reflection-preventing function and a UV light-absorbing function, is characterized by disposing a functional layer 12 on one side of a substrate film layer 11, making a protecting layer 14 adhere to the function layer 12 through the second adhesive layer 13, disposing the first adhesive layer 15 on the other side of the substrate film layer 11, disposing a release layer 16 on the first adhesive layer 15, dividing the first adhesive layer 15 into a temporal tacking adhesive layer 15a and a main tacking adhesive layer 15b, disposing a temporal releasing layer 16a on the temporal tacking adhesive layer 15a, and disposing a main tacking release layer 16b on the main tacking adhesive layer 15b.
