PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk device capable of precisely discriminating whether it is a specific optical disk or not. SOLUTION: The optical disk device 20 which does not write data on an optical disk other than the specific optical disk is provided with: a UV irradiation means 40 for irradiating the mounted optical disk 21 with ultraviolet rays; visible light ray irradiation means 42 and 44 for irradiating the mounted optical disk 21 with visible light rays; a light receiving means 46 for receiving the reflected light when the optical disk 21 is irradiated with the ultraviolet rays or the visible light rays; a determination means 52 for determining whether the mounted optical disk 21 is the specific optical disk or not, on the basis of the respective reflected lights received by the light receiving means 46 when it is irradiated with the ultraviolet rays and the visible light rays; and a control means 54 for performing the control so that the data writing is not executed, when the discrimination means 52 discriminates that the mounted optical disk 21 is not the specific optical disk.
