PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lubricating device provided with a double tank type oil pan structure capable of shortening warming up operation time and capable of suitably determining irregularity such as shortage of oil. SOLUTION: A first oil level sensor 64 generating output corresponding to oil level in a first chamber 30a is arranged in the first chamber 30a having an oil strainer 41 arranged at a bottom part. A second oil level sensor 65 generating output corresponding to oil level in a second chamber 30b is arranged in the second chamber 30b adjoining the first chamber 30a with an oil pan separator 32 therebetween. An electric control device 70 determine whether the oil level in the first chamber 30a gets to the lowest level E1 or lower, the first oil level sensor 64 or the second oil level sensor 65 fails, or a thermostat valve device 34 fails, based on output of the first oil level sensor 64 or the second oil level sensor 65.
