PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording device whose drive source is composed of only two motors, capable of precluding a delay in nipping by minimizing the delay in driving a sheet feeding means after the sheet advancing direction is corrected by a sheet feed roller. SOLUTION: The number of revolutions in driving is increased in the division from a sheet feed roller gear installed on a sheet feed roller to a sun gear, and the rotation angle of the sun gear relative to the sheet feed roller rotation angle is set large. Thereby the motion of a drive changeover means can be enlarged with less rotation of a transporting means, which enables improving the turbulence of the printing start position on a sheet caused by a delay in the driving input to the sheet feeding means, and also it is possible to shorten the starting time of the sheet feeding means.
