PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an article selector having an effect of selecting articles with consideration of an error in measurement. SOLUTION: The selector comprises a measuring means 11 for measuring a physical quantity of an article, a threshold value setting means 12 for setting an upper threshold value and a lower threshold value smaller than the upper threshold value both of which define a range of at least one physical quantity, a measurement error range setting means 13 for setting an upper measurement error range which is a measurement error range in reference to the upper threshold value of the measuring means 11 and a lower measurement error range which is a measurement error range in reference to the lower threshold value, a judging means 14 for judging the article to be an article having the physical quantity falling in the physical quantity range when the measured value of the physical quantity of the article by the measuring means 11 is less than an upper limit defined by subtracting the upper measurement error range from the upper threshold value and not less than a lower limit defined by adding the lower measurement error range to the lower threshold value, and an article selecting means 15 for selecting the article as an article having the physical quantity falling in the physical quantity range when the judging means 14 judges the article to be an article having the physical quantity falling in the range of the one physical quantity.
