CERAMIC HONEYCOMB STRUCTURE

A ceramic honeycomb structure capable of providing excellent durability by preventing it from being easily deformed or displaced. A plurality of columnar porous honeycomb-like ceramic members are combined with each other and bound to form the structure. Each of the ceramic members is formed by longitudinally disposing, parallel with each other, a large number of cells forming a gas flow passage through cell walls. The size of the cross section of the porous honeycomb-like ceramic member at both ends in a direction orthogonal to the longitudinal direction is set larger than that at the longitudinal center portion of the ceramic member.
