The apparatus measures cylinder pressure of an engine having at least one cylinder with at least a first and a second component. The two components are pressed together with a pressing force by means of a fastening device (15). A pressure sensor (6) on which the pressing force acts is arranged between the first and second components such that the cylinder pressure affects the pressing force acting on the sensor. Independent claims also cover a method of measuring cylinder pressure.
