[Also in Division B8] Apparatus for use in a method of producing a synthetic plastics valve bag comprise either:- a pair of reciprocating jaws 6 which co-operate with a suction chamber 8 to draw a valve extension 7 on a tube 1 after the valve portion has been heated by an infra-red heater and while it is held by a pair of jaws 3, or a reciprocating pusher 9 which co-operates with the suction chamber 8. In either method the end of the valve projection so formed is cut off and the remainder is pushed in to form a valve. The tube ends may be sealed before or after forming the valve. |
