<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing system for applying compression coding to consecutive shot image data and transferring the resulting data to a recording medium, the image processing system in which high speed consecutive shots are realized without being restricted by a capacity of a coding buffer. <P>SOLUTION: When an image processing apparatus 100 controls the coding buffer 104 as a ring buffer, applies compression coding to the image data, stores the coded data into the coding buffer 104, and thereafter transfers the resulting data to the recording medium 130 via a host CPU 120 for carrying out major control of the system, the host CPU 120 informs the image processing apparatus 100 of reading completion of the coded data, and when receiving a coding processing start instruction or the notice of read completion of the coded data from the host CPU 120, the image processing apparatus 100 informs the host CPU 120 about the number of coding completion frames, and the host CPU 120 reads the coded data by the number of coding completion frames from the coding buffer 104. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
