PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receiver capable of enhancing the operability associated with settings of an audio mode. SOLUTION: The receiver includes: an audio output section for outputting sound of television broadcasting in a prescribed audio mode when the television broadcasting received by a tuner 11 is a voice multiplexed broadcasting; and a main control section 23 for controlling the audio output section, and in such a state that the television broadcasting is the voice multiplexed broadcasting and another audio mode different from an ordinary audio mode set as the normal audio mode is selected, when the normal broadcasting state of the television broadcasting switched from the voice multiplexed broadcasting into the ordinary broadcasting continues in excess of a prescribed time, the main control section 23 controls the audio output section to provide an output of audio of the television broadcasting in the normal audio mode at the succeeding voice multiplexed broadcasting in the television broadcasting, and when the normal broadcasting state is finished within the prescribed time, the main control section 23 controls the audio output section to provide an output of audio of the television broadcasting in the other audio mode in the succeeding voice multiplexed broadcasting.
