PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide absorbing resin particles which can be used for an absorbing article exhibiting high absorbing properties (absorption capacity at ordinary pressure and absorption capacity under a load) under any conditions and therefore being substantially leakproof. SOLUTION: The absorbing resin particles are ones composed of a crosslinked polymer (A) comprising as essential structural units a water-soluble vinyl monomer (a1) and/or a vinyl monomer (a2) hydrolyzable into (a1) and an internal crosslinking agent (b), and a surface crosslinking agent (C), wherein the total chlorine concentration in (C) is 0.1 to 10 wt.% based on the weight of (C).
