PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin composition for dispersing a pigment having good color mixing properties by using a specific pigment dispersing agent and to provide a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: The resin composition for a weak solvent type coating is composed of a copolymer (A) component composed of substantially a vinylic polymer and having at least one hydrolyzable silicon group bound to carbon atom in the molecule, a silicon compound and/or its hydrolyzate condensate (B) component, a pigment dispersing agent (C) component composed of an acrylic copolymer or a urethane oligomer and a pigment (D) component.
